It is the responsibility of the shipper/exporter to inspect containers/break-bulk cargo for contaminants prior to shipment and to ensure that cargo is compliant with the bio-security requirements.
As a strict requirement, cargo must be presented to Swire Shipping free of any dirt, vegetation, contaminants or other risk residues at the time of loading. Swire Shipping will not be able to accept for loading any cargo that is found to be non-compliant.
Cargo that is discovered to be non-compliant after loading may be refused/rejected for discharge/delivery at the transhipment/discharge port by the relevant authorities.
We urge customers to be familiar with and to follow all relevant bio-security requirements since costs and liabilities will be for the account of the exporter/importer and these can be significant.
It is our aim to deliver cargo on time and we thank you for your support in helping us to do so.
Please feel free to contact your local Swire Shipping customer service team for assistance.
