Bunker Adjustment Factor-Exports from Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands

November 1, 2019

Further to Swire Shipping efforts to ensure that we are compliant with the IMO2020 regulations, Swire Shipping will changeover fully to the more expensive IMO2020 compliant fuel types in December.

As a result, Swire Shipping wishes to advise that the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) applicable on Exports from Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands for the month of December 2019 will be as follows:

Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF)

USD 755.00 per TEU

USD 1,510.00 per FEU

USD 37.75 per r/t

The above surcharge will apply for all consignments showing a Swire Shipping Bill of Lading date of 1st December 2019 or later for connections from Papua New Guinea or Solomon Islands to:

• Solomon Islands (from Papua New Guinea)

• Fiji

• Micronesia

• New Caledonia

• New Zealand

• Vanuatu

• Majuro, Nauru, and Rarotonga

• Samoa, American Samoa, Papeete, Nuku’alofa, Kiribati

Please note that as part of this BAF update, the Low Sulphur Surcharge (LSS) currently being charged in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, will cease to be in effect from 1st December.

A further review of bunker fuel prices will occur at the end November 2019 for application for January 2020 sailings.
