Bunker Adjustment Factor-Exports from Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands

October 1, 2019

Further to the announcement last month, Swire Shipping continues to take steps to ensure that the vessels we operate will be fully compliant with IMO2020 regulations. As part of this changeover, Swire Shipping now has increased requirements for the more expensive IMO2020 compliant fuel types.

As a result, Swire Shipping wishes to advise that the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) applicable on Exports from Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands will increase as follows for the month of November 2019:

Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF)

USD 770.00 per TEU

USD 1,540.00 per FEU

USD 38.50 per r/t

The above surcharge will apply for all consignments showing a Swire Shipping Bill of Lading date of 1st November 2019 or later for connections from Papua New Guinea or Solomon Islands to:

• Solomon Islands (from Papua New Guinea)

• Fiji

• Micronesia

• New Caledonia

• New Zealand

• Vanuatu

• Majuro, Nauru, and Rarotonga

• Samoa, American Samoa, Papeete, Nuku’alofa, Kiribati

A further review of bunker fuel prices will occur at the end October 2019 for application for December 2019 sailings.
